Responsibilities:

ROSEN is looking for a Head of Legal that will be based in Houston, TX.  This position reports directly to the VP – Business Collaboration.  

The Head of Legal  is the head of the legal department and responsible for providing legal counsel to senior management members. This individual must possess strong initiative and the ability to produce results as well as excellent management and leadership skills with a strong business acumen. In this capacity, the Head of Legal will also act as a mentor to key legal department personnel, encouraging their professional growth. The role of the Head of Legal is also a collaborative one and in that capacity works with departmental leadership and key stakeholders across the business in overseeing and ensuring legal compliance across the business, maintaining the business’s integrity both internally and externally. The Head of Legal will also work with departmental leadership across the business in identifying and managing potential legal risk. The Head of Legal will also work with all internal lawyers in drafting sensitive and high-value legal documentation necessary for business operations. An applicable license to practice law is required.

Responsibilities:

•    Managing a team of legal counsels and other members of the legal department and providing support to other legal and compliance team members
•    Managing legal risks within the business by taking responsibility for providing legal advice to the business’s senior leadership on all legal matters affecting their individual departmental transactions
•    Developing and leading regional/sectorial legal strategy to promote and protect the company's matters
•    Developing and leading internal audit and regional/sectorial compliance programs in accordance with the Group-wide compliance programs
•    Overseeing delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish company goals, strategies and priorities
•    Maintaining proper company interactions with the relevant local, state and federal governmental bodies,legislatures and the community at large
•    Assessment of Risk Management across the organization and provide guidance on how to manage ormitigate sources of risk
•    Executing legal activity according to company expectations, guidelines, processes, policies and laws
•    Leading internal and external resources in the defense of the company against any and all claims

REQUIREMENTS

•    Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admitted to accredited Bar and in good standing
•    Applicable license to practice
•    At least 5 years + of combined law firm and/or in-house experience(in-house experience preference.

Qualification or Skills:

•    Good understanding of corporate matters, Corporate and Commercial law
•    Experience managing litigation and claims, labor and employment matters, compliance issues, and providing general legal advice
•    Experience managing and leading a team
