Junior Mechanics Technician

Due to our ongoing organic growth, we are currently seeking a qualified permanent full-time Mechanics Technician to join our Shop Operations team in Calgary, Alberta. The Junior Mechanics Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain In-Line Inspection tools according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance processes to support the achievement of the business goals and objectives. The ability to interact with staff in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and assembling the mechanic and electronic equipment in accordance to drawings, parts lists, and configurations;
  • Perform highly diversified duties to maintain pipeline inspection tools to stringent targets and standards;
  • Read and interpret equipment work orders to perform required maintenance and service;
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems;
  • Replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments on tools;
  • Complete scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment;
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production;
  • Perform simple machinist duties;
  • Proficient use and understanding of hand and power tools;
  • Comply with safety regulations and follow business processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment / Physical Demands: 

100% shop environment. Position requires ability to walk throughout warehouse/shop/stock yard area. Heavy lifting is required; 50lbs alone and up to 180 lbs. with the help of others. Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol, Fit to Work testing, and Criminal Record check are required.

Qualification or Skills:

  • 2+ years of relevant mechanic assembly or mechanical component experience
  • Experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Experience interpreting and working from schematic diagrams, specification sheets and manuals 
  • Must comply with established Health and Safety regulations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and capability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • A self-motivated, pro-active individual who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office products such as Word & Excel
  • Highly motivated to contribute to the maintenance team goals and objects and able to work independently;
  • Ability to work flexible hours with the potential of overtime (evening/weekend) based on business needs;
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
